Types of Nozzles for Sprayer

Nozzles are attached at the end of the sprayer pumps to ensure that the fluid or the liquid fertilizer is evenly distributed to every part of the soil with ease. When you’re buying a nozzle for a sprayer, you must know which type of nozzle you need for your garden. To help you understand various types of nozzles for sprayer, we have jotted down this blog.

1- Flat fan nozzle for a sprayer

These are the famous and widely used types of nozzles for a sprayer. The flat fan nozzle is used for broadcast spraying, where the coverage of the liquid and the foliar penetration is not essential. The best pressure to use this type of nozzle is at 15-30 PSI. This produces coarser droplets that do not drift away because of the winds.

2- Floodjet nozzle for a sprayer

Floodgate nozzles are used in places where the liquid needs to reach the places quicker and far away. They are generally operated at around 5-25 PSI that helps in reducing the drift. However, the pressure changes, thereby affecting the width of the spray pattern. The major difference is that the sprays produced by floodjet are not uniform as flat fan sprays.

3- Cone nozzle for a sprayer

These full cone nozzles are available in medium and large size drops formats. You can choose various spray patterns for cone spray such as wide-angle, narrow-angle, square, oval and wide-angle square. The pressure used in cone nozzles is around 8-40 PSI, and the spray angles range from 15 degrees to 170 degrees.
